DIN rail power supply for 24 VDC loads
The Siemens 6AG1331-6SB00-7AY0 is a 24 VDC power supply rated 1.3 A continuous, with a maximum output of 1.7 A. It accepts a DC input from 110 V to 300 V DC, making it suitable for industrial control panels where a stable 24 V bus is needed for PLC I/O, sensors, and actuators. The output voltage is adjustable from 22.2 V to 26.4 V, allowing compensation for voltage drop on long cable runs to remote I/O racks. Required clearance above and below is 20 mm; no side clearance needed.
Output performance and derating
Rated 1.3 A at 24 VDC, the supply delivers 86 % efficiency. Above 55 °C ambient, derate the output by 2 % per Kelvin up to 70 °C. Load step response is 1 ms typical for both 10-to-90 % and 90-to-10 % steps, meaning the output recovers quickly when a valve or contactor coil energizes. The internal fuse is rated for 0.8 A²·s maximum I2t, and the recommended feeder protection is a miniature circuit breaker from 6 A characteristic B or from 2 A characteristic C.
Isolation and compliance
Galvanic isolation provides safety extra-low output voltage (SELV) per EN 60950-1 and EN 50178, so the 24 VDC output is safe to touch and suitable for powering field devices in dry indoor locations. EMC compliance covers both emission (EN 55022 Class B) and immunity (EN 61000-6-2), which is the standard for industrial environments. CE marking is present. Protection class is IP20 — the unit is not sealed against moisture or dust ingress and must be installed inside a rated enclosure.
Current production, sourced to order
MTBF at 40 °C is 3,094,996 hours.
