The 6AG1340-1AH02-2AY0: It provides one isolated RS-232C (V.24) interface with a maximum transmission rate of 19.2 kbit/s, supporting ASCII, 3964(R), and RK 512 protocols — the same protocol set as the base CP 340, so existing configuration packages transfer directly.
Power and mounting constraints
The module draws its power exclusively from the S7-300 backplane bus at 5 V DC, max 165 mA — no separate 24 V supply is needed, but the rack power supply must be sized to cover this draw alongside the CPU and other modules.
Environmental resilience and approvals
Conformal coating protects against condensation and corrosive gases; the module meets EN 50155 (T1, Category 1, Class A/B) for railway rolling-stock temperature, shock, and vibration, and ANSI/ISA-71.04 GX Class A/B for harsh atmospheres including salt spray and oil.
