Regulated adjustable-output 48 V power supply for automation panels
The Siemens 6AG1344-0SB00-7AY0 is an active-production SIPLUS power supply delivering a controlled, isolated 48-54 VDC at 5 A, with 92% efficiency and a relay alarm output for 48 VOK status. Accepts two AC voltage ranges (85–132 V and 170–264 V) at 47–63 Hz. The auxiliary relay (NO contact, 60 V DC / 0.3 A) signals when the output is within tolerance — useful for remote status monitoring in a control system.
Mounting and thermal derating
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 60715; the 42 mm wide enclosure (125 x 125 mm) clears adjacent modules with no side spacing (0 mm left/right clearance required). Top and bottom need 50 mm free air each for convection. Full 5 A output is available from 0–60 °C; above 60 °C derate by 5 % per Kelvin up to 70 °C. Plan enclosure ventilation to avoid premature derating if mounted near heat sources.
Terminations and protection
Input L-N-PE use single screw terminals (0.5–2.5 mm²); output + and - use double terminals per pole to simplify daisy-chaining to loads. The alarm relay also lands on screw terminals. A non-accessible soldered T 6.3 A fuse protects the supply; the recommended upstream miniature circuit breaker is 10 A characteristic C.
Lifecycle and compliance
CE marked, IP20 rated, and meets emission standard EN 61000-6-4 and immunity EN 61000-6-2. Galvanic isolation provides SELV output per EN 60950-1 and EN 50178.
