What the SIPLUS DM370 brings to the rack
The Siemens 6AG1370-0AA01-7AA0 is a SIPLUS S7-300 DM370 dummy module for harsh industrial environments, based on the standard 6ES7370-0AA01-0AA0 but with conformal coating and an extended temperature range from -40 to +70 °C (derated to 60 °C for UL/cUL, ATEX and FM approval). It occupies a slot in the S7-300 rack without adding I/O channels, drawing just 5 mA at 5 V DC from the backplane bus. Power loss is negligible at 0.03 W, so thermal planning inside the cabinet is unaffected.
Temperature and environmental ratings that define fit
The headline maximum is 70 °C, but the binding number for certified installs is 60 °C when UL, cUL, ATEX or FM compliance is required. Below that, the -40 °C floor covers cold-start and outdoor enclosure conditions. The module is also rated for harsh gas environments (GX group A/B, class 3C4), salt spray (LC3), and oil (LB3).
Comparison to the standard DM370
The standard version shares the same footprint (40 x 125 x 120 mm) and backplane draw, but lacks conformal coating and the -40 to +70 °C range (standard is 0 to 60 °C). For clean cabinets the standard version is economical. Specify the SIPLUS variant for coating and wider temperature envelope.
