What the extended temperature range means for your cabinet
The 6AG1405-0KR02-7AA0 is a SIPLUS S7-400 PS 405 10 A power supply based on the standard 6ES7405-0KR02-0AA0, with conformal coating and a rated ambient temperature range of -25 °C to +70 °C. Both limits assume the optional external battery box 6AG1971-0AA00-7AA0 is used in buffer mode — without it, the battery-backed memory hold-up range is narrower.
Input flexibility and backplane loading
It accepts 24 V DC, 48 V DC, or 60 V DC input, with rated currents of 4 A, 2 A, and 1.6 A respectively — so the input current drops as the bus voltage rises, but the output stays at 5 V DC. That 10 A backplane capacity is enough to power a fully loaded S7-400 rack with multiple CPUs and I/O modules; the 24 V DC rail handles any external field-side loads the rack's backplane supplies.
Conformal coating and harsh-environment credentials
The conformal coating (Class A per IPC-CC-830A) protects the PCB assembly from condensation, corrosive gases, and salt spray — it's rated for environmental conditions per ANSI/ISA-71.04 up to Level GX group A/B (excluding trichlorethylene) and Level LC3 (salt spray) and LB3 (oil). That makes this PS 405 a candidate for pulp and paper, chemical processing, offshore, or any location where standard S7-400 power supplies would fail from atmospheric attack.
