The 6AG1412-2EK06-2AB0 CPU requires a system power supply — 24 V DC direct feed is not supported. It operates from -40 to 70 °C ambient, making it the ruggedized S7-400 option. Process image is limited to 244 bytes each for input and output. Programmable in LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH, and CFC, so existing S7-400 logic migrates without conversion. IRT support via the integrated PROFINET interface keeps jitter under 1 ms for isochronous applications. Failure monitoring (FM) is bounded by the number of slots and connections — plan the configuration with this ceiling in mind if you rely on FM for diagnostics.
Key constraints
The CPU does not accept a separate 24 V DC input; it draws power from the rails of a system power supply. Plan the rack power budget accordingly.
Programming and communications
Supports LAD, FBD, STL, SCL, GRAPH, and CFC programming languages, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of existing S7-400 project libraries. Integrated PROFINET interface with IRT for real-time communication. Also supports TCP/IP and UDP via loadable function blocks. MPI is available for bus connection to HMI or other CPUs. Eight RDREC, WRREC, and RDSYSST blocks each are available for data record handling and system status reads.
The module fits a standard S7-400 rack: 25 mm wide × 290 mm high × 219 mm deep. Routing is supported with the interface active.
