S7-400 PROFINET IO controller, single-width
The Siemens 6AG1443-1EX30-4XE0 is a compact PROFINET IO controller module in the S7-400 single-width format, drawing 8.6 W from the backplane bus at 5 V DC. It supports PROFINET IO controller functionality with IRT, ring redundancy, and up to 128 active connections in multi-protocol mode, making it suitable for medium-scale distributed I/O networks where deterministic cycle times are required.
Operating envelope and physical fit
Rated for 0 to 60 °C during operation and IP20 protection, the module is intended for installation in a ventilated control cabinet within an S7-400 rack. Dimensions are 25 mm wide, 290 mm high, and 210 mm deep, occupying a single slot in the S7-400 backplane. The first interface is an RJ45 port operating at 10/100 Mbit/s; configuration requires STEP 7 V5.5 SP3 or higher, or STEP 7 Professional V12 (TIA Portal) or higher.
Network services and diagnostics
Built-in support for DCP, LLDP, SNMP v1, and web-based diagnostics simplifies network discovery and fault isolation without additional engineering tools. The module can act as a redundancy manager and supports ring redundancy, enabling media-redundant PROFINET topologies with sub-200 ms reconvergence. Up to 14 modules of this type can be operated per CPU, with a maximum of 4 functioning as PN IO controllers simultaneously.
