The 6AG1443-5DX05-4XE0 is a SIPLUS NET CP 443-5 communications processor that connects a SIMATIC S7-400 to a PROFIBUS DP network. It supports DPV1 communication, S5-compatible PG/OP, and S7 communication. This is the ruggedized SIPLUS variant based on the standard 6GK7443-5DX05-0XE0, with conformal coating and an extended ambient temperature range of 0 to +60 °C during operation. It is built for environments where humidity, dust, or chemical exposure would degrade a standard module.
DP master count and system limits
A single S7-400 station can operate up to 10 CPs total: up to 4 as PROFINET IO controllers (CP 443-1 Advanced) and up to 10 as DP masters (CP 443-5 Extended). The CP 443-5 supports up to 125 DP slaves per master, with 244 bytes each for input and output address ranges. The module draws 0.6 A at 5 V from the backplane bus, dissipating 5.5 W. It fits a single-width slot in the S7-400 rack — 25 mm wide, 290 mm tall, 210 mm deep — and is protected to IP20.
Software and configuration requirements
Configuring this CP requires STEP 7 V5.4 SP4 or higher, or STEP 7 Professional V12 (TIA Portal) or higher. The PROFIBUS interface is a 9-pin Sub-D socket (RS485) on the front.
Environmental and chemical resistance
The SIPLUS coating provides chemical resistance to commercially available cooling lubricants, including airborne diesel and oil droplets. The module complies with EN 60721-3-3 Class 3S4 (including sand and dust during operation) and EN 60721-3-6 Class 6S3 (including sand and dust during transport/storage). Unused interface plugs must remain fitted during operation. The operating altitude derating is specified: full temperature range at 1,140 to 795 hPa (-1,000 to +2,000 m), derated by 10 K up to 3,500 m, and by 20 K up to 5,000 m.
