The 6AG1500-0HP00-4AB0 is a Siemens SIPLUS variant of the S7-1500 CPU, built for an extended ambient temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C. This makes it a direct fit for outdoor cabinets, cold storage, or any line-side enclosure where standard 0–60 °C CPUs would drift out of spec. The process image supports 32 kbyte of inputs and 32 kbyte of outputs, matching the standard S7-1500 memory footprint for mid-size machine control. The I2t rating of 0.02 A²·s sets the short-circuit withstand for the backplane — coordination with the upstream breaker should account for this ceiling. Programming is supported in LAD, FBD, SCL, and STL; CFC and GRAPH are not available on this CPU. If your application relies on CFC-based drives or GRAPH sequencers, this is not the CPU for that task.
Communication Profile and Fieldbus Integration
On the network side, this CPU supports MRP (Media Redundancy Protocol) with Manager Auto permanently set in TIA and up to 50 nodes, plus UDP, LLDP, SNMP, and MODBUS TCP. TCP/IP is present, but DHCP, HTTP, and HTTPS are not — any web-based diagnostics or dynamic IP assignment will need an external gateway or a different CPU variant. PROFIsafe and IRT are absent, so this CPU is not suitable for safety-over-fieldbus or isochronous motion applications. MRPD is also not supported. For standard machine control with MODBUS TCP or PROFINET RT, it is fully capable. The integrated hardware clock and diagnostic LEDs (ERROR and MAINT,) provide basic on-device status without needing a connected HMI.

Dimensions are 210 mm width, 147 mm height, and 129 mm depth — the standard S7-1500 envelope. It snaps onto the same DIN rail and uses the same backplane bus connector as the standard 6ES7 515-2AM... series. No panel rework needed if swapping from a standard S7-1500 CPU.
