PROFIBUS Optical Link Module – Commissioning Notes
The module acts as a repeater and optical link for PROFIBUS networks, converting electrical DP signals to fiber optic. Supply voltage range is 18.8 to 28.8 V DC, rated at 24 V DC, drawing a maximum of 0.2 A. The module includes a redundant voltage supply input for high-availability topologies. PROFIBUS transfer rate is autosensing from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s; for PA segments the dedicated PA port runs at 45.45 kbit/s. Propagation delay per bit is 6.5 bit. 1 BFOC port; attenuation budget is 13 dB.
Lifecycle & Sourcing Status
Conformity acc. to EN 60721-3-3 Class 3S4 (including sand and dust) and EN 60721-3-6 Class 6S3 is declared. CE marking is present. The module carries EN 61000-6-4 Class A emission and EN 61000-6-2 immunity approvals, suitable for industrial environments.
Housing dimensions: 112 mm high, 39.5 mm wide, 74.5 mm deep. Mounts on top-hat DIN rail or panel. Protection class IP40. The power supply and signaling contact use a 5-pole terminal block; the measuring device (diagnostics) uses a separate 2-pole terminal block. The network/terminal equipment interface is a 9-pin Sub-D socket for PROFIBUS DP. Unused interfaces must be kept covered with the supplied plug covers during operation per the environmental category note. The module is chemically resistant to commercially available cooling lubricants, including airborne diesel and oil droplets.
