What this SIPLUS OLM gives you over the standard version
The 6AG1503-2CA01-2AA0 is a SIPLUS NET OLM/P11 V4.0 — the ruggedised version of the standard 6GK1503-2CA01 optical link module. It carries conformal coating and a widened operating range of -25 °C to +60 °C, making it the go-to variant for environments where humidity, condensation, or airborne contaminants are a concern. The module provides one RS485 interface and one plastic FOC interface with two BFOC sockets. A signaling contact and test port are included on the front, so you can verify link integrity without breaking the fiber connection.
Environmental tolerances and approvals
During storage and transport it can survive -40 °C to +70 °C. The conformal coating also provides chemical resistance to commercially available cooling lubricants, including airborne diesel and oil droplets. Installation altitude derating is specified: full temperature range up to 2,000 m, then a 10 K reduction in Tmax up to 3,500 m, and a 20 K reduction up to 5,000 m.
PROFIBUS integration and fieldbus fit
This OLM/P11 works with PROFIBUS networks. The RS485 interface connects to a PROFIBUS segment; the plastic FOC port extends that segment optically to another OLM or a fiber-capable DP slave. The two BFOC sockets handle the transmit/receive pair on the fiber side. For a panel fit: the module snaps onto a DIN rail. The signaling contact can be wired to a PLC digital input to report link loss, and the test port lets a service tech inject a test signal without disconnecting the live fiber.
