SIPLUS OLM/P12 — the one for the harsh install
The Siemens 6AG1503-3CA00-2AA0 is a SIPLUS variant of the standard 6GK1503-3CA00 — a PROFIBUS optical link module (OLM/P12 V4.0) with conformal coating rated for -25 to +60 °C and a compact 74.5 mm depth, 39.5 mm width, and 112 mm height. This is the spare you spec for environments where humidity, condensation, or airborne diesel and oil droplets would kill a standard OLM: cooling lubricants, engine test cells, food processing washdown zones. Keep one in the cabinet — when the standard unit fails in a corrosive environment, this one holds.
Dual media bridging
The module bridges PROFIBUS DP (9.6 kbit/s to 12 Mbit/s, 9-pin Sub-D) and PROFIBUS PA (45.45 kbit/s) over copper, plus two BFOC optical ports for fiber-optic trunk segments. Propagation delay is 6.5 bit, within spec for typical ring topologies. Communication is fixed at PROFIBUS; no onboard fieldbus gateway.
Because it carries the full industrial security documentation (EN 61000-6-4 Class A and EN 61000-6-5 interference immunity), it meets the compliance requirements for CE-marked panels.
