CPU commissioning brief
Siemens 6AG1510-1DJ01-2AB0 SIPLUS CPU supports 32 kB process image inputs and outputs, with integrated PROFINET IRT and MRP for deterministic communication. Power it up, set the PROFINET device name via DCP or DHCP, then the CPU will discover I/O stations over LLDP. IRT requires that the network be configured for isochronous mode; the CPU can act as MRP manager or client, so it can be dropped into a ring topology without extra hardware. The digital outputs carry an I2t rating of 0.14 A²·s — that limits their short-circuit withstand, so verify the branch circuit fuse or electronic protection is coordinated below that threshold.
SIPLUS vs standard variant
The SIPLUS 6AG1510-1DJ01-2AB0 shares CPU internals and physical dimensions (100 x 117 x 75 mm) with the standard variant 6ES7510-1DK03-0AB0. The key difference is the SIPLUS coating and extended temperature range.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts on a standard DIN rail — the 100 mm width occupies one slot. Depth of 75 mm leaves clearance behind the panel door. No special grounding is needed beyond the standard DIN-rail PE clip. The integrated PROFINET port runs at 100 Mbps. For first commissioning, attach the programming device via the X1 interface; default IP is obtained via DHCP unless a fixed address is loaded in the project. The CPU supports Modbus TCP alongside PROFINET, so it can talk to drives or RTUs without an extra gateway.
