Integrator note — PROFINET CPU with MRP and wide protocol support
The Siemens 6AG1513-1AL00-7AB0 is a SIPLUS S7-1500 CPU that supports DCP (Discovery and Configuration Protocol) for PROFINET device naming, FBD (Function Block Diagram) programming, and can act as an MRP redundancy manager for rings of up to 50 devices. It comes with 32 kbyte each of input and output process image, PROFINET IRT for isochronous real-time communication, and a built-in web server with standard and user-defined pages. Rated I²t of 0.02 A²·s covers the internal power supply buffer; the CPU's backup time at 40 °C is typically six weeks.
Sourcing and lifecycle — what to expect when ordering 6AG1513-1AL00-7AB0
If you are reviewing a BOM that originally specified 6AG1513-1AL01-7AB0, note that the AL01 is a later firmware revision. Both parts share the same core specifications (PROFINET IRT, MRP, web server, process image size, and programming languages: FBD, LAD, SCL, STL, GRAPH). The AL01 is functionally interchangeable from a hardware standpoint and is also available via RFQ.
Full protocol and programming support
Communications include MODBUS TCP, UDP, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, LLDP, SNMP, and S7 routing. The CPU supports DHCP client (disabled by default) and can host up to six additional communication modules (CM/CP) for PROFIBUS or PROFINET expansions. Programming languages available: FBD, LAD, SCL, STL, and GRAPH. PID controllers include (universal) and (for valves) with integrated optimization.
