The Siemens 6AG1515-2FM01-2AB0 is the SIPLUS extreme version with -40 to +70 °C range, DCP, and two integrated PROFINET ports.
Integration constraints for MRP and PROFIsafe
MRP is supported as both redundancy manager and client, with a maximum ring size of 50 devices. When configured as MRP manager, it handles the ring without an external switch. PROFIsafe is built in—no separate F-CPU needed for SIL 2/3 loops. Note the temperature note: at ambient below 0 °C, the display legibility degrades and dynamic content may update slower; the CPU function is unaffected. If HMI interaction at sub-zero is required, consider remote displays or a heated enclosure.
Programming and communications
Programmable in LAD, FBD, SCL, STL, and GRAPH—all inclusive—with failsafe blocks available in FBD and LAD. MODBUS TCP is native; no additional module required for Modbus slave/master. DCP (Discovery and Configuration Protocol) is enabled for network identification and setup. The CPU has two PROFINET ports (100 Mbps each), but IRT is not supported—MRP and RT are the redundancy and real-time options.
