SIPLUS analog input for S7-300 – sensor coverage and precision
Siemens SIPLUS 6AG1531-7KF00-7AB0 analog input module (current) accepts PTC, Pt100, Ni100, Pt1000, Ni1000, and thermocouples B/E/J/K/N/R/S/T. Voltage ranges: -10 V to +10 V, -20 mA to +20 mA, 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA, -50 mV to +50 mV. For high-speed machine tool thermal mapping, the additional error at 2.5 ms integration time is the figure to watch: ±1 K on type K thermocouple, ±0.08 K on Pt100 climate, or ±0.02 % of voltage span on the ±250 mV range. That holds the deterministic repeatability needed for closed-loop thermal compensation. Wire-break detection is active on 1-5 V, 4-20 mA, thermocouple, resistance, and RTD signals – a standard diagnostic for line-down fault isolation.
Integration – dimensions, wiring, and signal conditioning
Maximum shielded cable lengths: 800 m for voltage/current inputs, 200 m for resistance and RTD, 50 m for thermocouples. Run the TC wiring short to keep the cold junction stable; shield grounded at the panel end only. Status indication via green RUN LED and red ERROR LED; I&M data up to I&M3 for asset tracking during BOM freeze audits.
