The Siemens 6AG1541-1AD00-7AB0 is a ruggedized RS232 point-to-point communication module for the S7-1500 system. It carries a horizontal temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C and supports condensing conditions at the cold end, making it a fit for outdoor cabinets, cold storage, or any environment where condensation is a risk. The module draws 35 mA from the backplane bus and dissipates 0.6 W.
RS232 capabilities and diagnostic coverage
Transmission rate tops out at 115.2 kbit/s with configurable parity, stop bits, and character length (7 or 8 bits). The full set of RS232 auxiliary signals — RTS, CTS, DTR, DSR, RI, DCD — is available, so the module handles hardware handshake with older terminals and printers. Diagnostic alarm and wire-break detection are included; the yellow LEDs for RxD and TxD give immediate line-status visibility at the panel. I&M data (I&M 0) is supported for identification and maintenance record keeping.
Mounting and integration
Dimensions: 147 mm × 35 mm × 127 mm. The module has an 8-byte input address area and supports extended addressing up to 65535, with fast startup capability.
