PROFIBUS CP with DPV1 and dual role
The 6AG1545-5DA00-2AB0 is a Siemens PROFIBUS communications processor that operates as both a DP master and a DP slave, giving it flexibility to bridge bus segments or act as a standalone node on the line. DPV1 support means it handles the extended PROFIBUS DP profile for cyclic and acyclic data exchange — useful when you need to read diagnostic data or parameterise a drive without interrupting the cyclic I/O traffic. The bus runs at up to 12 Mbit/s, which is the top speed for PROFIBUS DP. At that rate the maximum segment length is 100 m; drop the baud rate for longer runs.
Panel fit and environmental range
The module measures 35 mm wide by 117 mm high by 75 mm deep — a compact footprint that snaps onto standard DIN rail and leaves room for adjacent I/O slices in the rack. It runs on 24 VDC nominal with a permissible range of 19.2 to 28.8 V and includes reverse polarity protection, so a swapped supply wire won't kill the module on power-up. The temperature range covers -40 °C to 70 °C horizontally and -40 °C to 50 °C vertically, which covers most cabinet environments including unheated enclosures.
