The 6AG1551-1AB00-7AB0 is the SIPLUS extended-temperature variant of the Siemens TM PosInput 2 module for the S7-1500 system. It captures position data from incremental or absolute encoders via RS-422 or 5 V TTL interfaces, handling 16 input bytes and 12 output bytes — 4 of those dedicated to motion control. Supply rails are held to 5.2 V ±2 % and 24 V with a 0.8 V drop on L+, so encoder power stays within tolerance over the bus.
Mechanical & Wiring Integration
Mounts on the S7-1500 mounting rail, occupying 35 mm width, 147 mm height, and 129 mm depth behind the panel. Encoder cabling should be shielded for runs up to 1 000 m. The module includes a diagnostic alarm and wire-break detection set between 48 Ω and 12 kΩ.
