SIPLUS front flap for harsh-environment S7-1500 CPUs
The 6AG1591-1BA02-2AA0: This is the SIPLUS variant of the standard S7-1500 front flap (order code 6ES7591-1BA02-0AA0) with conformal coating and extended temperature range, intended as a replacement display for SIPLUS CPUs: CPU 1515(F)-2 PN, CPU 1516(F)-3 PN/DP, CPU 1517(F)-3 PN/DP, and CPU 1518(F)-4 PN/DP. Rated for horizontal installation from -20 °C to +60 °C, so it lives in the same enclosure as the CPU without a separate heated compartment — the -20 °C floor is the cold-start limit, not just storage.
Environmental protection — coating, fouling, and coolant resistance
The conformal coating (IPC-CC-830A Class A) and Type 1 protection against fouling per EN 60664-3 mean the PCB is sealed against conductive dust and condensation — this is the differentiator from the standard 6ES7 front flap. Resistant to commercially available coolants and lubricants including diesel and oil droplets in the air, and meets ANSI/ISA-71.04 level GX group A/B for corrosive gas environments (excluding trichlorethylene) plus salt spray level LC3 and oil level LB3.
Altitude derating and low-temp display behaviour
At elevations above 2 000 m the maximum ambient temperature derates: -10 K up to 3 500 m, -20 K up to 5 000 m — factor this into the enclosure thermal budget if the panel sits in a high-altitude plant. Below 0 °C the LCD legibility may be restricted and dynamic content representation may be slower — the display is usable but not full-speed below freezing; the CPU logic itself is fine down to -20 °C.
