What this HMI brings to the panel
The Siemens 6AG1647-0AF11-4AX0 is an HMI with a 211.2 mm display width. It supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and MODBUS out of the box, plus DCP, DHCP, and LLDP for network configuration and discovery. The rear is IP20, so it mounts in a standard control cabinet with the display sealed to the door.
The rear panel is IP20, so it's meant for a cutout in a cabinet door with the electronics inside. The display width of 211.2 mm gives you a readable screen for operator prompts and alarms. It includes an acoustic sound signal for alerts — useful when the operator isn't looking at the screen.
Compatibility with S7 controllers
This HMI works with S7-300 and S7-400 controllers directly over PROFINET. For S7-200, it connects via a CP (communications processor) — not native. It also supports WinAC simulation and includes a help system, libraries, and a task planner for recipe or alarm management. No web browser, no USB memory, no system keys with LEDs — it's a focused operator panel, not a full PC.
