What this HMI panel brings to the panel door
The Siemens 6AG1647-0AG11-4AX0 is a SIMATIC HMI panel with a 304.1 mm display width and 60 mm overall depth — sized for a cutout that fits standard enclosure doors without eating into wiring space behind the gland plate. Rear protection is IP20, so it belongs in a sealed cabinet, not on a washdown station. Onboard Ethernet carries PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and MODBUS TCP natively — no separate comm module needed for multi-vendor lines. DCP (Discovery and Configuration Protocol) is supported, so the panel picks up its IP address automatically on a PROFINET network, saving a step during commissioning. It integrates directly with S7-300/400 controllers over the backplane or via the Ethernet link. For S7-200 plants, it connects through a CP (communications processor) — not direct, but workable with the right adapter.
Network and protocol fit — no extra cards
DHCP and LLDP are both enabled, meaning the panel can auto-negotiate its address and topology discovery on managed switches. SNMP support lets the plant network team poll it for status without walking to the cabinet. No PROFIBUS or MPI onboard — if the existing line uses those fieldbuses, this panel needs a gateway or a different HMI variant. The Ethernet-only interface keeps the BOM clean for new installs but rules out legacy Profibus drops.
