Ruggedized box PC for extended-temperature environments
The Siemens 6AG1647-8BE72-4HA1 is a SIPLUS IPC 227E ET industrial PC based on the standard 6ES7647-8BE72-7HA1, with conformal coating for operation from -25 to +60 °C. It runs a quad-core Intel Atom E3845 processor (4C/4T) with 4 GB RAM and a 60 GB SSD, pre-loaded with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2016 LTSB 64-bit MUI. The 24 V DC supply powers a compact box form factor (191 x 100 x 60 mm) with IP40 protection — suited for panel mounting in production areas where condensation or airborne contaminants are a concern.
Connectivity and expansion
One PROFINET interface and two 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet RJ45 ports handle real-time control and plant-network integration. Three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 port support local programming or data transfer; a DisplayPort provides video out. A CFast slot offers removable storage expansion, and the COM 1/2 serial interface connects legacy field devices. No PCI slots are available, so all I/O must be handled through the onboard ports or a remote PROFINET rack.
Lifecycle status – NRND, sourcing reality
Siemens lists the 6AG1647-8BE72-4HA1 as NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs). That means the manufacturer still supports existing installations but advises against specifying it into new projects.
