It acts as both PROFIBUS DP master (default) and slave, supporting transmission rates up to 12 Mbit/s. Power loss is just 1 W typical, and the module draws up to 150 mA from the S7-400 backplane (with no 24 V load on the bus, that voltage is provided only to the DP interface).
