What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6AG1972-0BA42-7XA0 is a SIPLUS PROFIBUS bus connector designed for connecting PROFIBUS stations to the PROFIBUS bus cable via a 9-pin sub D connector. It uses screw termination for the bus cable, with a 35° cable outlet to ease routing in tight panels. The integrated terminating resistor is switchable via a slide slide switch, covering transfer rates from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s. Rated for operation, storage, and transport from -40°C to +70°C, with 100% humidity including condensation and frost permitted (though not in a bedewed state for commissioning). The plastic enclosure carries IP20 protection and is silicon-free and RoHS conformant.
