The Siemens 6AG1972-0BB12-2XA0 is a SIPLUS DP PROFIBUS plug built on the standard 6ES7972-0BB12-0XA0 but with conformal coating and a wider operating range. It connects a PROFIBUS station to the network cable at speeds up to 12 Mbps, using a 90° cable outlet and a screwed-joint locking mechanism.

Rated for operation from -40°C to +70°C, with storage and transport from -40°C to +70°C as well. That covers most industrial freezing or high-temp zones without derating. Relative humidity up to 100% including condensation and frost is permitted, but the note explicitly prohibits commissioning while the unit is bedewed—allow a dry-off period before powering up the bus.
