The Siemens 6DR5010-.....-.... is a SIPART PS2 smart electropneumatic positioner — the workhorse for pneumatic valve actuation in process lines. It accepts a 4-20 mA control signal and drives single-acting actuators, linear or part-turn, with non-contacting (wear-free) position feedback via NCS. The polycarbonate enclosure suits it for general-purpose and Ex/nEx zones. The non-contacting position sensing is the key reliability feature here: no wiper track to wear, no mechanical linkage to drift. That means the feedback stays consistent over the valve stroke life, and you don't get the creeping offset that signals a pot replacement is due. The Ex/nEx marking covers both hazardous-area and safe-area installations in one order code — you don't need to specify a separate Ex variant.
