What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6DR5210-.....-.... is a SIPART PS2 smart electropneumatic positioner accepting a 4-20 mA (3/4-wire) HART signal, designed for single-acting pneumatic linear and part-turn actuators. It comes in a polycarbonate enclosure and carries both Ex and non-Ex approvals, so it fits into hazardous-area valve assemblies as well as general-purpose control loops.
Lifecycle and sourcing reality
This positioner carries a lifecycle status of NRND (Not Recommended for New Designs). That means Siemens no longer targets it for new projects, though existing installed base may still be supported. The product class is C — manufactured or produced to order, not a stocked shelf item — so any procurement runs through a quoted-to-order RFQ process rather than off-the-shelf fulfillment.
