Explosion protection and area classification
The 6DR5222-0EM00-0AA0: Double-acting pneumatic output covers linear and part-turn actuators that need pressure on both ports. The 4-20mA loop with HART interface allows digital configuration and remote monitoring over the same pair. This unit ships without a limit monitor or option module, and without a mounted pressure gauge block – all field-mount accessories are added separately.

The most functionally similar variant is 6DR5225-0EG00-0AA0, an aluminum Ex d (flameproof) enclosure version. Critical differences for the sourcing decision: the Ex concept changes from intrinsic safety to flameproof (Ex d), the enclosure material from stainless steel to aluminum, and the pneumatic thread from 1/4" NPT to G 1/4. A panel or skid originally specified with the G 1/4 flameproof variant will require an adapter and possibly different cable glands or explosion-proof barriers to use this intrinsic safety unit. These are not drop-in alternatives across the two Ex types.
