Integrator’s first look
The Siemens 6ED1052-1MD08-0BA0 is a current-production LOGO! 12/24RCE logic module with an integrated display, Ethernet port, web server, and data-logging capability. It runs on 12 or 24 VDC and provides 8 digital inputs (4 configurable as 0–10 V analog inputs) plus 4 relay outputs rated 10 A resistive, 3 A inductive. The memory holds 400 function blocks, and the unit mounts on a standard 35 mm DIN rail using 4 spacing units (71.5 mm width).
What the ratings mean for fit
Temperature range is the standout: -40 °C to 70 °C. Where the older 6ED1052-1MD00-0BA7 (still available) tops out at 55 °C and bottoms at 0 °C, this unit tolerates freezer storage or hot enclosures without derating. That alone determines fit for outdoor cabinets or unheated machine rooms. Function-block count jumps to 400 from the 333-block limit on the -0BA7. If your program logic approaches the old ceiling, this unit buys headroom without hardware changes. All other core I/O ratings — 8 DI (4 AI), 4 relay outputs, 10 A resistive / 3 A inductive — are identical between the two. Footprint: 4 spacing units (71.5 mm width, 60 mm depth) vs. 6 SU (107 mm width, 55 mm depth) on the -0BA7.
Panel integration and wiring
Mount on 35 mm DIN rail, 4 spacing units (71.5 mm) wide. Power supply range is 10.8–28.8 VDC; use a Class II power supply for SELV compliance. The 480-hour power reserve keeps the real-time clock and program in memory when main power is lost; no battery needed.
