The Siemens 6ED1055-1HB00-0BA2 is a LOGO! expansion module that adds 4 digital inputs and 4 relay outputs to a LOGO! base unit. It handles both 24 V AC and DC input signals, with a logic "1" threshold above 12 V and "0" below 5 V. The relay outputs switch up to 5 A resistive or 3 A inductive loads, and can handle lamp loads up to 1000 W. That 3 A inductive rating is what you'll use for small contactors or solenoid valves — the 5 A resistive covers heaters or indicator banks.
Rated IP20, so it lives inside an enclosure. Ambient range is 0 to 55 °C; if you have a firmware version ES03 or higher, the cold end drops to -20 °C.
Signal and timing
Input switching times: 1.5 ms on the rising edge, 15 ms on the falling edge. That's fast enough for most discrete sensing — limit switches, pushbuttons, proximity sensors. The relay outputs mechanically switch at up to 10 Hz, so don't plan on PWM or fast counting through these; use a transistor output module for that.
