What this CIM module does in the panel
The Siemens 6ED1055-5MC08-0BA1 is a LOGO! CIM communication interface module rated for -40 to 70 °C ambient, which covers unheated outdoor cabinets or refrigerated environments without derating. It adds Modbus RTU connectivity (RS232/485) to a LOGO! 8 base unit and includes a four-port industrial Ethernet switch for daisy-chaining additional devices or the local HMI. The module includes a mini PCIe interface, but the expansion card and antennas are not supplied.
Physical and power integration
Mounts on 35 mm DIN rail and occupies 4 spacing units (71.5 mm wide). The 58.5 mm depth without antenna sockets fits shallow enclosures or leaves room for wiring behind the module. Accepts 12 V DC or 24 V DC on the same terminals; the supply range is 10.2 to 28.8 V DC. Maximum current draw is 1 A, so a standard LOGO! Power or external 24 V supply handles it. FW updates are supported, and the module ships with firmware V1.0.0. The RUN/STOP LED gives immediate status on power-up.
