What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6EP1332-1SH71 is a SITOP power supply delivering a rated 2.5 A at SELV output, with automatic range selection on the input side — accepts 85–132 VAC or 176–264 VAC at 47–63 Hz. It snaps onto a DIN rail per EN 60715 and is rated IP20. The 2.5 A continuous rating (0–2.5 A range) covers small control loads — a handful of relays, a PLC, a small HMI. The 3.5 mA maximum leakage keeps it clean for sensitive downstream electronics.
Hazardous-area approvals — what they mean for fit
This unit carries ATEX II 3G Ex nA nC IIC T4 Gc and IECEx Ex nA nC IIC T4 Gc — that is Zone 2 (gas) approval for non-sparking apparatus. It also holds FM Class I, Div. 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4 and cULus for hazardous locations (ISA 12.12.01, CSA C22.2 No. 213). If your panel sits in a paint booth, chemical storage area, or refinery skid where flammable gases may occasionally be present under abnormal conditions, this supply is listed for that environment. The T4 temperature class (135 °C max surface) and IIC gas group (hydrogen, acetylene) cover the most demanding gas groups. The nA (non-sparking) and nC (enclosed-break) construction means it is designed so normal operation does not ignite the surrounding atmosphere.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto DIN rail EN 60715 35×7.5/15 or can be wall-mounted. Input terminals (L, N, PE) accept 0.5–2.5 mm² screw terminals; output (L+, M) gives two screw terminals per pole for daisy-chaining. The recommended upstream protection is a 16 A B-curve or 10 A C-curve MCB. Clearance: 20 mm top and bottom, 0 mm left and right — so it can be packed tight against adjacent DIN-rail devices without side gaps.
Approvals and compliance
cULus-Listed per UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No. 107.1 (File E197259), plus cURus-Recognized per UL 60950-1 and CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1 (File E151273). CE, EAC, and DNV GL marine type approval are also on file. The output is SELV per EN 60950-1 and EN 50178.
