Output rating and derating profile
The 6EP1332-5BA00: Above +60 °C ambient, derate at 1.6 %/K; at +70 °C the available output drops to 2.1 A. The internal fuse protection (I²t max 2.4 A²·s) handles short-circuit energy without external fusing in most panel layouts. The NEC Class 2 output (per UL 1310) limits available power to levels that don't require additional overcurrent protection in the load circuit — a practical advantage for control panels feeding multiple sensors or PLC input modules where Class 2 wiring rules apply.
Input range and global approvals
Wide-range input accepts 100–240 V AC (47–63 Hz) or 110–300 V DC, covering single-phase mains worldwide without voltage selector switches. The internal fuse and recommended feeder MCB (16 A B-curve or 10 A C-curve) provide coordinated branch-circuit protection per UL 508. The dual UL file numbers (E197259 for industrial control equipment, E151273 for ITE) mean the supply qualifies for both factory-floor and office-environment installations.
Mounting and environmental envelope
Snaps onto DIN rail EN 60715 (35×7.5/15 mm) — no tools needed for installation or removal. The IP20 enclosure is touch-safe for panel interiors but requires a sealed cabinet for washdown or outdoor locations. Operates from -20 to +70 °C with natural convection — no forced-air cooling required. Storage and transport range extends to -40 to +85 °C. The MTBF of 2.88 million hours at 40 °C (calculated per Siemens reliability data) supports long service intervals in continuous-duty applications.
Termination and wiring
Output side has one positive terminal and two negative terminals (same wire range) — the dual negative terminals simplify daisy-chaining loads without a separate distribution block.
