The Siemens 6ES7132-4BD00-0AA0 is a 4-output digital module for the ET 200S — a standard DO slice running at 24 V DC from the backplane bus, rated 0.5 A per channel. It is current-production and a direct replacement for this order code. Width 15 mm and depth 52 mm allow dense cabinet packing. Thermal load is 0.8 W typical, so modules can be placed close together.
What the Ratings Mean
Each output sources 0.5 A nominal — switching resistive loads up to 100 Hz, inductive loads limited to 2 Hz. The clamp voltage from inductive kickback is internally limited to –55 to –60 V, so no external flyback diode needed if you use the same load voltage as the power module. No per-channel diagnostics, so for fault-prone loads you'll want to add a DI feedback. Reverse-polarity and reverse-voltage protection are built in, but only when sharing the power module's load voltage. Power draw from the backplane bus is 10 mA max, plus 5 mA per channel from load voltage — negligible for bus budgeting.
