Channel count and per-output current limit
The 6ES7132-4BD01-0AA0: Four digital outputs, each rated 0.5 A at 24 VDC sourced from the ET 200S power module. The module as a whole is limited to 2 A total, so all four channels can be loaded simultaneously at the per-channel maximum without exceeding the backplane or terminal capacity. The 0.5 A per channel is a continuous rated value, not a surge rating. For lamp loads the maximum switching frequency drops to 10 Hz; inductive loads are limited to 2 Hz. Resistive loads switch at up to 100 Hz. The 100 µs turn-on and 300 µs turn-off times are fast enough for most discrete control loops but not for high-speed counter or pulse-train applications. The output stage includes reverse voltage protection when the load voltage matches the power module supply, and reverse polarity protection — though a polarity reversal can forward-bias the outputs, so the wiring check at commissioning matters.
The module draws up to 10 mA from the 3.3 V backplane bus and up to 5 mA per channel from the load voltage L+ when quiescent. The 0.8 W typical power loss is low enough that no forced cooling is needed in a standard IP20 enclosure, but adjacent modules should be spaced per the ET 200S derating guidelines if the ambient exceeds 55 °C.
