The Siemens 6ES7132-4BD50-0AA0 is a 4-channel digital output module for the ET 200S distributed I/O system, delivering 0.5 A per channel from a 24 V DC supply drawn from the power module. The 2 A module total means you can load all four channels at the full 0.5 A simultaneously without exceeding the backplane limit — no derating for channel-to-channel loading. The transistor output switches resistive loads at up to 100 Hz, but inductive loads drop to 0.5 Hz and lamp loads to 10 Hz; the 300 µs turn-on and 600 µs turn-off delays are fast enough for most discrete valve and contactor banks but not for high-speed indexing.
Protection and diagnostics — what you get and what you don't
Short-circuit protection is built in, and reverse-voltage protection works when the load voltage matches the power module supply. Reverse-polarity protection is also present. There is no channel-to-channel isolation, so a fault on one output can pull down the common rail. No diagnostics function — the only status indication is a green LED per channel. For a Tier-1 line requiring full part genealogy and zero escapes, the lack of diagnostics means the downstream PLC must infer output health from feedback sensors or a separate monitoring slice.
