What this module delivers
The Siemens 6ES7132-4BF00-0AA0 is an 8-channel digital output module for the SIMATIC DP family. Each channel sources 0.5 A at 24 V DC (PNP), with a total module current of 4 A. Switching is fast — 300 µs on, 600 µs off — and the module handles resistive loads at 100 Hz, inductive loads at 2 Hz, and lamp loads at 10 Hz. Short-circuit protection, reverse voltage protection, and reverse polarity protection are built in. A green LED per channel gives a quick status check at the cabinet door.
At 15 mm wide and 52 mm deep, this module takes one slot on the ET 200M rail. Unshielded cable runs up to 600 m; shielded runs up to 1000 m. The output is source (PNP), so loads switch between L+ and ground — verify your field wiring matches before power-up. No isolation between channels, but the channel-to-backplane bus is isolated and tested at 500 V DC. The module draws 10 mA from the backplane bus at 3.3 V DC and up to 5 mA per channel from load voltage L+ (unloaded).
