8-channel PNP output slice for ET 200
The Siemens 6ES7132-4BF00-0AB0 is an 8-channel digital output module for the SIMATIC DP ET 200 distributed I/O system. It provides source (PNP) outputs rated at 0.5 A per channel, with a total module current limit of 4 A. The module draws its 24 V DC load voltage from the power module on the same ET 200 rail, simplifying wiring. It includes short-circuit protection and a diagnostics function that reports group errors via the SF (red) LED. Switching speed is application-dependent: up to 100 Hz with resistive loads, but drops to 2 Hz with inductive loads and 10 Hz on lamp loads. The 1.5 W typical power loss is modest for an 8-channel output block.
Mounting and integration
The module snaps onto the ET 200 base unit (not included). Its 15 mm width fits a standard DIN-rail profile; the 52 mm depth and 81 mm height are consistent with the ET 200 family, so no special clearance is needed. Address space is 1 byte, and the module supports redundant control of a load per module. The backplane bus draws up to 10 mA from the 3.3 V DC supply. Cable lengths: up to 600 m unshielded, 1000 m shielded. The response threshold for overcurrent sits between 0.7 and 1.9 A, so a short on one channel will trip the module-wise protection without taking down the whole station.
Output characteristics and protection
The PNP sourcing output delivers a rated signal "1" at 0.5 A, with a permissible range up to 600 mA. Residual current at signal "0" is max 0.3 mA. The minimum voltage for a valid "1" is L+ minus 1.0 V. Reverse voltage protection is active when the module shares the same load voltage as the power module. Reverse polarity protection is present, though a polarity reversal can cause the outputs to conduct through. Switching times: 300 µs max for 0-to-1 transition, 600 µs for 1-to-0. Isolation is tested at 500 V DC between channels and the backplane bus.
