DQ output, 8 A continuous — what that means for the BOM
The 6ES7132-6BH00-2AA0 is a 2-byte digital output module for the Siemens ET 200SP distributed I/O system. It sources 24 VDC at up to 8 A continuous across the module (derated to 8 A at both 50 °C and 60 °C), so the full current is available across the operating temperature range without derating. The DQ output type means it drives standard 24 VDC actuators — contactors, solenoid valves, indicator lamps — not MSO or PWM loads.
Switching speed and diagnostics for the commissioning engineer
Switching times are tight: 80 µs typical turn-on, 100 µs typical turn-off at rated load. That keeps the output response deterministic for fast valve banks or pick-and-place solenoids. The module supports I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) and diagnostic alarms — the group error bit flags a fault on any channel, and the backplane auto-encoding reads the module identity on insertion.
Base unit compatibility and wiring
This module mates only with BU type A0 base units. A single BU type A0 handles 1-wire connection; for 2-, 3-, or 4-wire sensors you add a potential distributor module. The 15 mm width keeps the DIN-rail density high — 58 mm depth leaves clearance for the wiring duct behind the panel.
