Module overview — integrator's take
The 6ES7132-7RD01-0AB0: This 4-channel transistor output module rides the ET200iSP backplane, delivering 20 mA per channel at a nominal no-load voltage of 23.1 V DC. The Ex ib (ia Ga) IIC T4 Gb rating covers Zone 1/2 gas and dust environments, plus mining with Ex ib [ia] I Mb. Each output is short-circuit protected — trip threshold is 800 ohms per output or 40 ohms when channels are paralleled for higher current sharing. Built-in wire-break detection flags a field open when line resistance exceeds 10 kohms or current drops below 100 µA, saving field-service callouts. Diagnostic alarm is parameterizable, and the group error SF indicator gives immediate visual fault. The auxiliary H-shutdown input (intrinsically safe) provides a hardwired safe state without CPU intervention. Power budget: 2.5 W typical loss, 290 mA backplane draw plus up to 340 mA from load voltage L+ with actuator supply active.
Mounting & integration
Width 30 mm, depth 136.5 mm, height 129 mm — slots into any ET200iSP rack position. Unshielded cable runs up to 500 m; shielded same. Switching speed: 2 Hz inductive load, 100 Hz resistive. Address space is 2 bytes per module. For commissioning: set diagnostic alarm via parameterization; wire-break thresholds are factory-default at R > 10 kohms / I < 100 µA.
