RTD input module for ET 200S — 4 channels, Pt100/Ni100
The Siemens 6ES7134-4JB51-0AB0 is a 4-channel analog input module for the ET 200S distributed I/O system, accepting resistance thermometers Pt100 and Ni100 in standard and climatic ranges. Each of the four inputs can be configured for 3-wire or 4-wire connection; two channels are used per 3-wire sensor. The module fits a 15 mm wide ET 200S slice, 81 mm tall, 52 mm deep — a tight footprint for dense I/O layouts on a DIN rail.
RTD types and measurement ranges
Supports Pt100 and Ni100 in standard and climatic ranges, plus resistance ranges 0 to 150 ohms, 0 to 300 ohms, and 0 to 600 ohms. Input resistance is 2000 kΩ across all RTD and resistance ranges, keeping the burden on the sensor negligible. The integrating measurement principle with a 16.7 ms or 20 ms integration time rejects 50/60 Hz line noise — selectable to match your mains frequency.
Cycle time and filtering
Basic conversion time is 66 ms per channel (80 ms with wire-break diagnostics enabled); total cycle time equals active channels × basic conversion time. Digital filtering is parameterizable in four stages: none (1× cycle time), low (4×), medium (32×), or high (64×) — useful for suppressing noise on long sensor runs. Maximum shielded cable length is 200 m, adequate for most plant-floor RTD runs.
Diagnostics and status
Group diagnostics, wire-break detection, and overflow/underflow are each independently enable/disable per module. A red SF (group error) LED signals any fault; short-circuit proof outputs are included. No channel-to-channel isolation — adjacent channels share a common reference, so plan your sensor wiring accordingly.
Power and bus interface
Rated 24 V DC supplied from the ET 200S power module via the backplane bus; typical power loss is 0.6 W. Reverse polarity protection is built in, and isolation tested at 500 V DC between the bus and field circuits. Address space is 8 bytes per module; isochronous mode is not supported.
