Integrator's note — this relay output slice
The 6ES7136-6RA00-0BF0 is a single-channel relay output module with two normally-open contacts rated for AC 230 V or DC 24 V switching and a 24 V DC coil. It is rated SIL 3. The relay contact current is 5 A at moderate ambient temperatures, derating to 3 A at 50 °C and 3 A at 60 °C. The module fits a BU type F0 base unit (not included). Physical size is 20 mm wide, 73 mm high, 58 mm deep — standard slice width for the ET 200SP family, so it keeps the rail density predictable. A green RUN LED and a green/red DIAG LED sit on the front; channel status per output is indicated by a green LED.
Application and compliance detail
The relay is UL approved for Pilot Duty B300, R300, with overvoltage category III (per IEC/EN 61131-2:2007) or II. Dielectric isolation tested at 2 545 V DC for 2 s; channel isolation only for SELV/PELV circuits. The module supports I&M data records 0 to 3 for asset management and automatic encoding via the base unit. Diagnostics functions are built in, including short-circuit and wire-break detection on the load side (with appropriate external wiring). Minimum switching current is 1 mA, which matters when driving low-signal loads such as PLC inputs or pilot LEDs.
