What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6ES7138-4CF01-0AB0 is a SIMATIC DP power module for the ET 200S distributed I/O system, specifically the PM-E F PROFIsafe variant. It supplies 24 V DC to the station's load voltage buses (and) via an integrated relay and provides two fail-safe digital outputs rated for safety applications up to Category 4 / SIL 3. The module is designed for installations with ungrounded reference potential, and its electronic short-circuit protection is built in.
Mounting and integration notes
The module fits a standard ET 200S terminal block with 30 mm width per slot. The relay for bus switching internally isolates and when the safety function demands it—no external contactor required for typical fail-safe disconnection up to SIL 3. The missing-load-voltage response (disable/enable) can be configured via the PROFIsafe GSD. Reverse polarity protection is not provided on the load voltage input; confirm wiring polarity during commissioning.
