What it is and what it does
The 6ES7138-4DD00-0AB0 is a current-production Siemens ET 200SP digital input/output slice — two channels, each bringing one digital input and one transistor-style output on the same terminal block. It sits on the ET 200SP backplane, 15 mm wide, saving rail space in dense cabinet layouts. The input side accepts 24 V DC signals (signal “1” from +11 to +30 V), draws 9 mA typical per channel, and can handle sensors up to 2-wire types without an external supply. Output side switches up to 2 A per channel with short-circuit protection built in — good for driving contactors or indicator loads directly. Cable runs: unshielded up to 600 m, shielded up to 1 000 m — enough for distributed field wiring within a plant zone.
