What this module does
The 6ES7138-4DJ00-0AB0: Compact ET 200AL slice with three digital inputs, one digital output, and one analog output dedicated to speed setpoint generation. The input stage handles up to 500 kHz over RS-422, accepting 0-10 V and ±10 V signal ranges. That makes it a fit for encoder feedback loops or high-speed pulse counters where a single analog speed command is needed downstream.
Mounting and wiring notes
30 mm wide, 81 mm tall, 52 mm deep – sits on an ET 200AL rail. Shielded cable runs up to 1 000 m for the RS-422 line; unshielded drops to 600 m. A 330 Ω terminating resistor is built in; use it for the far end of the differential pair. Signal propagation: latch time 400 µs typical, transition from 0 to 1 at 1.3 ms max (150 µs typical). Reverse polarity and short-circuit protection are included on the outputs.
