The 6ES7138-4FA05-0AB0: Diagnostics are onboard: a green LED per input for status, a red group-error LED (SF), and a diagnostic alarm that can be read over PROFIsafe. The module reports diagnostic information over the backplane bus, with galvanic isolation between channels and the backplane. Cable length can be up to 500 m shielded or unshielded, but for safety applications shielded cable is recommended to avoid EMI coupling. The module is parameterizable, so input debounce times and filter settings are set via the engineering tool.
