8-channel DI slice with PROFIBUS DP
The Siemens 6ES7141-1BF40-0AB0 is an 8-channel digital input module for the ET200X distributed I/O family, communicating as a PROFIBUS DP slave at baud rates from 9.6 kbit/s up to 12 Mbit/s. Rated 24 VDC with a signal '1' threshold of 13 to 30 V and a typical input current of 10 mA per channel, it handles 2-wire sensors directly and includes channel-by-channel wire-break and short-circuit detection. The input filter is parameterizable in four steps — 0.5, 3, 15, or 20 ms — letting you match debounce time to the sensor type and cycle rate on the line.
Diagnostics and fault handling
Diagnostic functions — including group error (SF red LED), channel fault indicator (F red), diagnostic alarm, and hardware interrupt — are all parameterizable, so the module reports exactly what the control logic needs. Isolation between different circuits is tested at 75 V DC / 60 V AC; between channels and the backplane bus there is no isolation, so adjacent channels share the same reference. Power loss is 3.5 W typical, and the module draws up to 180 mA from the 5 V DC backplane bus.
Dimensions are 175 mm wide, 180 mm high, and 110 mm deep; when screw-mounted the width increases to 180 mm, height to 174 mm, and depth decreases to 90 mm. Unshielded signal lines can run up to 30 m; the module includes RUN LED, FREEZE and SYNC capabilities for coordinated data acquisition across the network.
