The Siemens 6ES7142-1BD20-0XB0 is a compact basic module in the ET 200X family, purpose-built for distributed I/O on a PROFIBUS DP network. It packs four digital outputs rated at 2 A per channel at 24 V DC with electronic short-circuit protection, and handles transmission rates up to 12 Mbit/s via the integrated PROFIBUS DP slave interface.
Mounting and integration
Module dimensions are 55 mm deep, 134 mm wide (module width 107 mm), and 110 mm high. The ET 200X base unit supplies power via the integrated PS interface; the module draws up to 180 mA from 1L+ and 12 mA from 2L+ without load. You can add up to seven expansion modules behind it (max six pneumatic or motor starter/frequency converter types). The unshielded PROFIBUS cable can run 30 m to the last node; slave-to-slave direct data exchange is supported for peer-level communication.
Output characteristics and switching
Each output switches 2 A at 24 V DC, with a maximum resistive load frequency of 100 Hz and 1 Hz on lamp loads. The module has electronic short-circuit protection; reverse polarity protection is not built in.
