PROFINET IO module with IRT and shared-device capability
The Siemens 6ES7142-6BR00-0BB0 is a PROFINET IO module for the ET 200SP family, with two M12 D-coded ports for 100BASE-TX. It supports IRT with cycle times from 250 µs to 4 ms in 125 µs steps, and the jitter stays at 10 µs — clean enough for synchronized drives or fast I/O updates. Shared-device capability lets a single module talk to two EtherNet/IP scanners (or one Modbus TCP client) simultaneously, reducing the number of nodes needed in a dual-controller setup. Media redundancy (MRP) and ring topology are supported, and the module implements I&M data (0 to 3) for asset tracking. Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 60 °C, so it can live in a cold warehouse or a tightly packed panel without forced cooling.
